Final Piece Development

Development

As you can see below I have created a over sixty different development pieces. This is using my Photography from the Warehouse. I used the images of my friend in a gas mask, the environment around the warehouse, danger symbols and my previous work, which was generally the Chapman Brothers pieces. My final piece relates to my project because I am showing nightmares which I am particularly scared of. As I have included the images of my friend within a gas mask, which is a prospect I am scared of as I have a fear of war, as war equals to death and destruction. As my final piece will be showing the fears that I have. I have used the gas mask because it links to David Ho's work which I believe is particularly scary as it is futuristic but it has an element of fear to it due to its metallic, raw colours. As well as the gas mask I have included my work from the Chapman brothers. I generally would use this within my background. This can be considered as a factor that war is just a concept that is like a game to some leaders as they would consider these soldiers as toys. As with toys they can easily be destroyed, as so can people within war. It is also put in within my work because I am particularly scared of dolls as it is a fear I have had since a child due to the scary stories I was told when I was a child as I use to have nightmares about this particular doll. My final piece will show my particular fears within it. I believe that the backgrounds are particularly creepy due to repetition which I believe makes things more scary as when there is a large amount of something it then becomes more scary. I then used various different danger symbols such as the hazard, nuclear and toxic symbol. This is to represent war and danger as it is to warn people not to go into war. As when people see them symbols they then could get scared as they then know there is an element of danger. I have experimented with various different textures, colours and compositions as you can see below.

Gradients

Through my Final piece development I then decided that I really liked the pieces that are shown below. These are all used through the gradient on Photoshop. I really like these as I believe that they have an element of fear and make the art work look scary. It links into my project as it can relate to war due to the fact it is like thermal vision which is generally used within war to find enemies. This creates an element of fear and also other colours can suggest death such as the red and black as it reminds me of hell which is again a prospect a lot of people are scared of. As they are all the same I will now play around with the composition of these four pieces as I will have each four as my final piece as I believe repetition adds a fear factor.
