Art in places

Experimenting with art work

With all of my art work that I have so far created. I then began to think of various different ways I presented my work. Yes, I could easily print it out in graphics but I believe that it could also be made into sculptures which are shown below at the Turner Prize Hall and other various places. I have also photo shopped it into the Durham Cathedral stain glass windows, this shows the various ways my art work can be presented as there are examples below.

Jenna Maurice Montazeri

Jenna Maurice Montazeri

Jenna is an artist who isn't well known as a lot of her work is found on Blogger which isn't an established website to post your work. A lot of her work is performance and installation. I don't know too much about the artist as all I can find is blogger but generally her work is quite unusual with some aspects of fear.

Forbidden Doorknob

Within this photo it is an instillation piece by Jenna Maurice Montazeri. As it shows it is a doorknob which is covered by needles. I believe that this is related ot fear because it is the fear that people have in life of going down a path without knowing where it is going. It can also be related to death as it is metaphorically a door that we don't want to pass through. As you can see below I have created my own installation piece of this art work. I have covered a door handle in white tack and then covered it in needles. I believe that this has an aspect of fear as when people first saw it they couldn't believe what I had done to the door handle. No one would dare touch it due to the fear of being hurt.

Phil Toledano/Chapman Brothers

Mixture of Artists - Development

As I have completed all of my artist research. From this I tried to link all of my project together, experimenting new ideas. I first of all mixed the Chapman Brothers dolls as you can see below which created a similar effect to Phil Toledano's work as it is almost as if the dolls is the persons fear. I have created various different art work, based on all the artists I have researched. I have now formed both artists together into one art piece.

Dolls in woods

As you can see within this piece I have taken the baby doll's head and used Photoshop to glue it to a barbie doll's body. This automatically makes the piece look scary as when asking family and friends what they found scary it was dolls, and to put two together it doesn't look right which is scary. I have put this within my photography from Durham, as it is putting it within an environment which when the viewer sees this art piece they could then become scared of the darkness and what lurks within it. I have done multiple of these as you can see below, experimenting with the backgrounds.

Human Doll

Within this piece I have created a background using the dolls head and created a pattern. From this I have used a Dolls head and put it on top of my own body. This then is similar to Phil Toledano's work. This links to my project because dolls are a fear of a lot of people and the work looks really creepy at first sight. I have then experimented with the various different texture, colour and gradient of this as you can see below.
