Una Cierta Mirada Development

From the Una Cierta Mirada piece of the little girl with the trees on her face, I have then created development pieces based on this. As I scanned various pieces of paper which I had blew ink on the pages to get a tree effect. I then took a photo of myself and put the scanned ink on top of myself. This then created this effect. From this as you can see I have changed the texture, composition and effects on the photo. I have created several of these to experiment as you can see.

Una Cierta Mirada

Una cierta mirada translates to 'a certain look'. This artist is one which I found on Flickr. It is a man who is a photographer, mainly doing pieces in black and white with small aspects of colour. It is a very experienced photographer as he has published over 4,000 photos.

Golden Trees

Within this piece it has a forest during the winter which automatically makes the art piece look very creepy. From this it has a golden mist which gives the impression of a fire as it is very foggy and un-clear. This relates to my project as a lot of people have fear of nature and the things that can happen from this as fires can start which are destructive. The prospect of smoke people are scared of as it generally suggests a large fire. I really like the use of dead trees as I think it brings a 'dead' feel to photos.

Tree

As you can see within this piece Una Cierta Mirada has used photography and graphics to put trees upon a girls face. This then has created an effect of darkness which actually looks really creepy. This is linked to my project as a little girl in the forest is generally a scary prospect to a lot of people. As a forest generally annotates as loneliness, especially during winter as we relate it to death.

Phil Toledano - Development

Phil Toledano Development

Phil Toledano art work is pretty simple as it is just someones fear shown above them. I have done this but I have put people's fears on top of myself. This shows some of my development of Phil Toledano's work.

Knowledge

Within this piece I have put various different items that I found within the classroom. This includes a clock, staplers, glue, rulers and a door handle. This is on a plain white background so that the art work is more visible. This links to my project as it links ot the prospect of knowledge as a lot of people are scared of knowledge of what people are scared of. As some people can use knowledge against someone as it goes by the phrase "Knowledge is power".

Like Clockwork

As within this piece, as you can see it is the same picture again but I have created the clock into a paint brush and put multiple clocks on top of myself. This is like Phil Toledano's work as it shows someone's fear on top of them. As within this art piece a lot of people are scared of the prospect of time and aging. As when you age people are scared that their looks will deteriorate but also as they age more problems will occur.

Phil Taledano

Phil Taledano was born in 1968 within London. Taledano has a BA in English Literature but his art education had come from his father who was a full time artist. Phil Taledano varies as it can be photography  installation, sculptures or paintings. Some of his work is even within deep personal.

Baby Suit

Within these pieces of art Phil Toledano has explored Hope and Fear. Within all of these pieces I believe he has explored the fear of everyday people and put them on ordinary people. As within this piece it shows a man who has multiple Baby Dolls stuck to him. This links to my project as it could be considered this man's fear. I will use this within my project as I would look within peoples owns personal fears but I also like the idea of dolls as I believe that they are very scary. I could create my own installation piece. I believe that within this piece by having many of the same thing it then makes it become creepy, which I will explore within my work.

 Gun Necklace

Within this piece again is about Hope and Fear. This piece can be related to the fear of guns that society has. This image could be considered on how guns make us stand tall in confidence as the most powerful countries will stand tall as of there power as they have guns. This could just be considered the fear of guns in today's society as it is coming more and more common, especially in america. This relates to my project because of the fear aspect. I like this work because it is very simple, just like fear as it is a simple thing which is hard to be taken away. I will use this within my project as I will experiment with putting pieces on myself as I could Photoshop them on or make an installation piece.

Joshua Hoffine Development

Joshua Hoffine Development

I believe that Joshua Hoffine's work shows a story within a picture as it is based on children's fears, for example it shows murder etc. which is like a story which is within one image. So within this piece I have tried to create a story through a series of images. As you can see as you scroll down it shows someone appearing from outside a tree and chasing the person. As it is in first person it shows them running away and finally being caught and getting strangled. The final image is the person walking away. This links to Joshua Hoffine's work as it shows a childrens fear as they are scared of the dark. The reason that they are typically scared of the dark is because they don't know what is within it. This shows what can lurk within the darkness which can be fearful to a lot of people, as it is a fear everyone has as within darkness people won't walk certain routes as there is more chance of something bad happening which is an element of fear that people have.
